Les is like listening to a greazy beer fart. Bear is 1000 times more entertaining. Sure he has a camera crew, but they are just as tough as he is . any of you folks out there think your tougher go ahead and swim naked in a frozen river. Eat some apples out of a bear turd, oh yeah, he rinsed em first, what a candy cane. So run with him for 1 hour or shut up and enjoy the entertainment!

Okay folks, let's be honest - if you were all alone, no one else to back you up, would you:

A) Jump over lava warning folks of danger of doing that
B) Walk around the lava knowing the danger of it

Face it - people in Manitoba have credited Les Stroud and Survivorman for living long enough to be rescued. Making nighttime shelter, when to move vs. when not to, how to get water and not get sick. Bear is out there making something you want to watch because it's exciting.

Any fool can see that a carcass of a dead buffalo is decomposed and fly/maggot cover is not going to be prime rib! But the fool pokes at it anyway.

If you are still convinced that Bear is 100% honest then you aren't catching the opening credit disclaimer.

(Stupid ADD/ADHD kids and their need for hype. Grumble grumble)

This guy named Bear is an idiot, i have worked and played in the Bush all my life and he shows no respect for nature or wildlife. It is just unfortunate that a bear or snake has not taken a bite out of him, i would love to match wits with him in the wild and i bet that without the cameras rolling he is about effective as a wet paper bag and quite likey runs in fear of anything that moves in the bush. It is a shame that Discovery has felt the need to broadcast a show with him in it.

Man vs. wild is a terrible example of how to actually survive in the wilderness. In real survival situations you want to take your time and not waste precious energy doing stupid, pointless things. Also, you want to be extremely careful, especially if you are alone because there is no one else there to help you out if you get injured and you will die very quickly if you get any major injury. But, time and time again Bear Grylls slides down hill sides, he runs and jumps all over the place, easy ways to twist an ankle and die in a real survival situation. This show is teaching almost no real survival skills but is showing uneducated viewers the complete opposite of what to when in a survival situation, endangering them, because when someone who's only survival education is Man vs.wild gets lost and finds themselves in a real situation they will most likely die attempting stunts they've seen preformed on this show

Survival expert, instructor and writer Cody Lundin watched this episode. This is what he had to say about it:

"While trapped in my hotel room in Portland, Oregon in October of 2007 as part of my book tour for When All Hell Breaks Loose, I caught parts of two major survival programs on cable television. Unfortunately for one of the hosts, the show I watched was filmed in Arizona’s Sonoran desert. I lasted 10 minutes before I changed the channel due to inaccuracies and poor desert survival priorities."

The other show he watched was 'Survivor' , and we all know about how accurate THAT one is.

What exactly are you accusing him of "faking"? Everything is right in front of you on the television screen. He eats in the wild, he creates fire in the wild, he obtains water in the wild, and he builds sustainable shelter in the wild.

Those are considered the survival basics and are the premise for every survival show on Discovery.

Just because he may have slept in a hotel at some point during his life or knows what McDonald's tastes like... doesn't mean he isn't a survivalist.

I dont know about them faking their shows but both are certainly very exciting. To be honest I like Bear better than Les.that maybe because he is on the move and not sitting in one place like Les.

@ Brian Mayeux's comment..... They are in fact called javelinas. And like all animals will be fine if left alone. Javelinas can be extremely aggresive when with children. I have seen them hundreds of time and quite have seen them attack my dogs twice and they have tried to attack me through a fencing. If they are with their young, it would be best to back away. At first they will run but if they do not they can be extremely dangerous.
