Les Stroud is from Canada and previously in his life was a canoe guide, wilderness instructor and music video producer.

Survivorman is one of my favorite survival type shows out right now. Why?, Because Les gives practical survival advice and is alone without the assitance from an elaborate team. Another great thing about this show is that Les takes a piece or two of modern “survival gear” into the field and tests it out and reports back. First hand reviews of popular survival gear in the field really matter!
