Man Vs. Wild TV Show Overview

Man Vs. Wild is a show on the Discovery channel that has a sole host being dropped into the wilderness, with the goal being to survive and find a way out as quickly as possible. The host of Man Vs. Wild is Bear Grylls, who has a lot of experience in survival that he has earned throughout his life, such as when he served in the British Army Special Forces. It has aired two seasons, with the first being shown in 2006, and airs under a different name (Bear Grylls: Born Survivor) in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Survivorman TV Show Overview

A popular new show for fans of discovery and the great outdoors is Survivorman. This show features one man, Les Stroud, alone in the wilderness surviving with minimal tools and mainly on natural resources. The show airs in both Canada (on Outdoor Life Network) and the US (on Discovery) at different days and times, and is steadily developing a large following of dedicated viewers.

Comparing Survival TV Shows

If you are a Discovery channel fan, you have likely seen one or both of the newest survival tv shows Man Vs. Wild and Survivorman. These two tv shows have the same basic concept—they each have only one host that is stranded in deserted areas all over the world and they are challenged to survive. However, there are many differences to the shows, and it can be difficult to decide for yourself which show is best.
